Band Profiles
Chris Gilbride - Vocal
Profile to Chris’ love of music started in a music lesson in infant school where he first heard an old classic - Johann Sebastian Bach’s Air on the G String. He was also influenced by the Beatles during his childhood and was blown away by the Sergeant Peppers album. He formed his first 5 piece Rock band at the tender age of 14. (This was a big step away from being soloist in the school choir) Since then he’s played in a wide variety of bands performing anything from Soul to Rock music and all manner of ‘stuff’ in between. He initially played lead guitar and sang lead vocals but as his performances became more animated the guitar got in the way and so was put to rest. This gave him the freedom to ‘take command’ of the audience and become the front man he is today. The venues he’s played have ranged from small pubs with one man and his dog sat in the audience to open air gigs with thousands in attendance. But his main love has always been Rock Music and so he joined LITT 15 years ago after taking a few years out of the gig circuit. His small claims to fame are that Sting once stood at the side of the stage with friends and watched the band’s performance. Another time Chris was at the front of the stage at an Elton John concert when someone in the audience screamed out loud at a particularly quite moment in the concert “Oh my god, it’s the singer out of Long in the Tooth” She then loudly asked for his autograph. Old EJ looked over as if to say ‘Who the hell is that?’ and was not impressed that his performance of a quiet ballad was rudely interrupted by an ‘up-start’.
