The Premier Rock Covers Band

Band History
'18 Years of Long in The Tooth'
Long in the Tooth is the High Peaks longest reigning rock band.

The band’s history has seen them play gigs and outdoor festivals all over the country, drawing an ever increasing number of fans of all ages. They have also played venues in Europe and been invited back 3 times to play at the prestigious ‘Rose of Tralee festival’ in the Republic of Ireland.

There have been many changes in the band’s line up since founder members Mick Knott (bass) and Stuart Browning (lead guitar) formed LITT over 16 years ago. They had their first rehearsal in Sept ’93 and first gig at Buxton Football club in Feb ’94. There have been 7 drummers, 4 lead guitarists, 1 rhythm guitarist, 4 bass players, 4 lead vocalists, 3 backing singers and 3 keyboard players. Phew! The present line up does not include any of the original band members.

Mick Knott was the only original member left in the band until he lost his long and brave battle against cancer. Mick handed the band baton over to vocalist Chris Gilbride weeks before his unfortunate death.

Chris Gilbride has been fronting the band for nearly 15 years and has built the band up. Chris brought in Jono Walsh on bass 11 years ago to replace Mick Knott. Jono had previously been with a band called the Rattlers. Jon had worked really hard mastering his craft and went from strength to strength giving the Tooth a solid, driving bass beat. Kirk Boulton, who was also an ex member of the Rattlers joined the Tooth 9 years ago. The Kirkster is a great, solid drummer, borne out of many years hitting those skins with Punk and Rock bands. Chris asked Jason Gilman to join LITT 2.5 years ago after they had briefly played together on a band project that didn’t take off. Thankfully Jason said yes. Jason, an accomplished guitarist had played lead guitar with many bands including local band Fula. A very skilled guitar player he helped make the Tooth sound complete.

In 2010 both Jono and Jason decided to leave the Band. So after much searching we tracked down the exceptionally talented and experienced guitarist Frank, shortly followed by the rock solid bass player Duncan. To this mix we have broadened our sound by adding the keyboards of Chas, giving us the band we have today.

Long in the Tooth continue to build on the popularity generated over the years, belting out their trademark 60’s to present day rock classics. They play covers from Hendrix, The Who, U2, Stereophonics, REM, Kings of Leon and many more.
